A Conversation with Ivan Krastev: Lessons from 2025, Outlook on 2026
Listening to Ivan Krastev, one could easily get the impression that he observes world events from a bird’s-eye perspective. Not only does he recognize the major changes of our time, he brilliantly articulates and connects them like no other. Anyone wanting to stay informed about the overall geopolitical situation will find few better conversation partners than this renowned political scientist. Therefore, we at Presseclub Concordia, in cooperation with ERSTE Stiftung and fjum (Forum Journalismus und Medien), we traditionally end the year by inviting Ivan Krastev for an inspiring conversation – as always moderated by our foreign policy expert Mirjana Tomić.
Ivan Krastev is the chairman of the Centre for Liberal Strategies and permanent fellow at the Institute for Human Sciences, IWM, Vienna. He is a founding board member of the European Council on Foreign Relations, a member of the Board of Trustees of The International Crisis Group and member of the Board of Directors of GLOBSEC. He was a contributing opinion writer for the New York Times (2015 – 2021) and currently is a Financial Times contributing editor.
