Daniela Kraus Biography
Daniela Kraus is the Secretary-General of Presseclub Concordia.
Daniela Kraus has been Secretary General of the Presseclub Concordia since January 2019. Since 1859, Austrian Presseclub Concordia has been advocating as a guardian of press freedom and ethical standards in journalism. As General Secretary, Kraus is responsible for the strategic leadership and management of the world’s oldest press club and can ideally combine her education and interests: Kraus holds a PhD in history and has worked in journalism, media consulting, practice-oriented media research and education. From 2011-2018, she founded and directed the training institution “fjum_forum journalismus und medien”, and from 2005-2011 she was the managing director and founding partner of research institute “Medienhaus Wien”. Her interests and work focus on the transformation of journalism through technological and social innovations.
Kraus has designed and carried out numerous studies and projects on journalism and media, including co-editing the book series Journalismus-Report. She has been advising policy makers and media professionals on strategies to foster independent journalism and is a leading contributor to the development of curricula for journalism training programs.
Since 2021, Kraus is a policy fellow at the CSaP at the University of Cambridge.
